Gratuitous Icon Post

I really have nothing interesting to say right now, aside from being very amused by this icon, which I made from today's Sinfest.

It's not untrue, though. If you made a list of all the women I've either dated or wanted to date over the last 15 years, the one thing they have in common is they are all devastatingly intelligent. It's just what I select for, I guess.

In other news, three day weekend! Yay!

Sapiosexuality, yay! I much prefer to be involved with smart people, preferably smart funny people.

*nods* If they can't take the punnery, it's probably a no-go... just the way my brain works.

Nice icon. (And, yes, I know what it means. Love is unlimited. Time is not. :)

I am highly flattered *G*

Funny, a lot of really smart women I've met don't think they're all that smart. Which is a shame, I think...

/me wonders if it's dumb men in positions of power feeling threatened that have something to do with this... :(

*shrug* For that matter, rather a lot of smart people don't think they're smart. I'm apparently fairly intelligent, but from the inside it doesn't feel like anything special - it's what I'm used to, after all. (And, like ACat, I tend to gravitate to intelligent people as well, so again the available comparison makes it seem quite ordinary!)

*nods* That's one of the big social problems us geeks have... we tend to hang out with like minded folks, so we're totally unaware of our special-ness... until we start wondering why it is the hoi polloi can at time seem so dense....

My answer? Use the Internet to find more smart people, and try to take over the world! MWAH HA HA ha... ummm did I say that out loud? :) :) :)

Quiet, Pinky, you're scaring the humans!

*LOL* the icon is faboo...

Y'know, there are a couple of mice you ought to meet...

I R Smart!

[identity profile] folkmew.livejournal.com 2006-09-02 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Damn right yer smart.

I kind of know what you mean. I've never thought I was dumb, but in some ways I think the first time I've ever felt really 'smart' is in grad school. Dunno why exactly... maybe cause I'm actually finally *working* hard at something? ;-)

Anyway - personally I think ACat is wise and has outstanding taste. (grin)

Somebody needs to post a link to the study that found that the people who overestimate their intelligence are pretty dump, while the ones who tend to underestimate it are the smart ones :).

Quite right to. :)

Yep. Sapiosexuals 'R' Us. There might be a few exceptions, but if there were they didn't last very long - everyone I've ever dated (or more) since I left high school has been somewhere between pretty darn smart and just f'ing brilliant. Many's the time when I watch some bombshell sashay by and wonder, "yeah, nice.... but can she think?"

[livejournal.com profile] wolfieboy (former MENSA member)'s highest compliment is, "Nice lobes." As in, my, isn't that a beautiful brain.

The 'toon is priceless, thanks. Hafta repost that. (I haven't read sinfest in months...)

Funny. The whole point (normally) of a three day weekend is the chance to turn the brain *off*...

Alas, I get to move house. Oh, well.

Alas, I get to move house. Oh, well.

I sympathize. Admittedly, given who you're moving WITH, my sympathy is somewhat limited, but I DO sympathize.

*chuckle* I dunno, we're essentially doing this one on our own, and poor [livejournal.com profile] cflute's ankles are complaining mightily. *sigh* At least we've got pros to do the *truly* heavy lifting, but still, there's a lot of work ahead of us both this weekend and next, and I'm not looking forward to it... other than to get it *done*.

Awww *blush*

*kiss* Miss you!

No comment except: I miss you online! Wah. Hate pesky busy grad school schedules! Foo! ;-)

I miss you too. *snuggle*
